Our Restaurant

Going back to time in the summer of 1993 the family decides to transform the home house into a restaurant. Since then everything has changed, the grandfather’s grandfather “Panai” with the twelve vats of Warda and Vertzami wine as well as the olive oil were transformed into pans, pots and ladles …

Athani is a village in southern Lefkada. It administratively belongs to the Municipality of Apollonia.

The first inhabitants (Bogordes, Robotees & Vicente) were from Italy while the primary name of the village was Azani. In 1490, Spanish-speaking Jews settled in the area. During the 1950s much of the population emigrated. In recent years the area has begun to grow in popularity due to the famous Porto-Katsiki beach.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Passing through Athani, a semi-mountainous village with an amphitheatric position overlooking west towards the Ionian Sea, you will find three of the most beautiful beaches on the island: Porto Katsiki, Egremnoi and Gialos.

Porto Katsiki

Leaving Athani, after a 9 km or 15 minutes drive, a beautiful route through the pine trees leads to the most famous beach of the island, Porto Katsiki, which is listed as one of the top six Mediterranean beaches.

Egremnoi

A unique beach that has fanatical visitors since its location leaves you speechless. Located ten minutes (6 km) from Athani and is one of the most beautiful beaches.

Gialos

It is the nearest beach from Athani at 3km. It is a 6 km long sandy beach, mildly deep blue waters and steep cliffs that attract swimmers for solitude and camping.

After Porto Katsiki beach, a dirt road begins leading to Akrotiri of Lefkata, with the stunning white rocks, from which Lefkada is traditionally named (Lefkada > Lefko = White). It is about 50km from the city and is one of the natural attractions worth seeing. The landscape is mountainous and wild, the waves hit the huge rocks and the view is lost in the endless blue of the Ionian Sea.

From here, the cape of Lefkatas is said that the lyric poet Sappho jumped in the sea and drowned when Pharaoh’s beloved refused her love.

In Akrotiri you will also see the lighthouse of Lefkatas which is said to be built on the ancient temple of Apollo.

Sixteen (16) kilometers from the city of Lefkada, in the cosmopolitan Nidri, a well-organized Water Sports Center has been operating for fifteen years, with long experience and excellent equipment. It will tutor you learn water skiing, fly over Scorpio with its colorful parachute, and test your skills in other “inflatable” games like fly-fish, tubes, banana, crazy-sofa, big mable, etc.

To the south of the island lies the bay of Vassiliki, where besides a paradise of surfers, it has the lake-like conditions of the sunny west, at all times of the day. Conditions ideal for water skiing and boarding. On this side of the bay, in an environment where all safety rules are respected, there is a water sports school that introduces visitors to the secrets of skiing and wake board. Even those who are not sports enthusiasts can play with sambrellas, bananas, fly-fish or watch the cove from above enjoying a parachute flight.
